★ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Ami is a (mostly) human girl of half-Japanese ethnicity. She is 15 years old. She's about 5'3" 5'4" 5'5" 5'6" 5'7" and skinny, without much going on in the rumble spheres department. Her hair is about shoulder-length, black, and very straight, and she usually wears it in pigtails. (outdated) As of Nov. 14, 2019: Her lips and tongue are naturally blackish instead of pink; the sclera of her eyes are naturally yellow instead of white; and her blood is much darker red than a human's. As of late November 2019: Turned 15. As of late April 2020: She has bright orange horns that spiral like a bighorn sheep's; and her hair is much longer (now reaching her lower back) with loose curls that give it a lot more volume. As of late May 2020: She's recently finished a huge growth spurt that started shortly before she arrived in Anchor, and now stands about 5'7". However, the rest of her body has yet to catch up with her skeleton, so while she's starting to fill out into a more woman-shaped figure, for now she's just gangly and awkward. ♚ FASHION: GOTH. A significant proportion of her wardrobe is from Hot Topic, but she also buys fancier items online when she can (and indeed spends most of her allowance on this). She leans more toward "elegant lace goth" than "spikes and leather goth," but also has a robust "goth casual" collection. She wears black eyeshadow and lipstick, of course, but sometimes mixes it up with more creative looks. In Redshift, she often wears lighter makeup, since her supply is more finite. She only has one outfit that actually came from Hot Topic, i.e. the one she was wearing when she arrived: a black knee-length skirt, black off-the-shoulder sweater, and knee-high platform boots that add 2 or 3 inches to her height. The rest of her wardrobe is as gothy as she could put together from things left over in the abandoned clothing stores - still mostly black, but more practical and not as stylish. She's experimenting with some DIY looks, like cutting holes and closing them with safety pins, strategic sleeve shredding, etc., with mixed results. She also usually wears a wide belt with her communicator clipped to one side, and (as of mid-October 2019) a coiled black bullwhip clipped to the other. As of early February 2020: She's reinforced her wardrobe with supplies from an actual (albeit possibly Martian) Hot Topic, which has allowed her to discontinue some clothes and shoes that she's outgrown, including the outfit she arrived in. ♚ DEMEANOUR: For the most part, bubbly and upbeat. She's quick-witted, lightly teases people she likes, and loves jokes, puns, and memes. However, there's often an undercurrent of self-consciousness. ♚ SOUND: Generic American accent. Her voice isn't particularly high- or low-pitched for her age. She does have a large vocabulary, though. ♚ SCENT: Strawberry shampoo is the only real distinct one. Her alien blood probably smells distinctive to those with noses sensitive enough to tell. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: She has no particular defense against mind-reading, but she's very difficult (if not impossible) to mind-control. If someone were to dig into her memories, they would likely find some from her past life. Other than that, her mind isn't too unusual. ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Someone with the ability to see people's souls would notice that Ami's doesn't quite... fit. It'll seem somehow misaligned or out of sync with her body. They'd be able to pick up a large amount of latent power in that soul, however. What might happen if it were brought back into alignment? ♚ NOTES: When she befriends someone new, Ami typically links them to a particular video she made a while ago to explain her situation. ★ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: Yo, I love it. As long as you're interested, I'll keep tagging till kingdom come. That said, for more major threads that will change something about Ami's baseline, I prefer to knock those out more urgently. I know it's not common practice to schedule "boomeranging sessions" ahead of time, but I'd like to do more of that. Feel free to hit me up either for that, or if you'd like me to prioritize a particular thread for a bit. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: Go for it. She's a Homestuck, fourth walls are a dime a dozen over there. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Platonic or familial stuff is generally fine, but she is a minor, so anything overtly inappropriate is gonna be a hard no. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Generally not opposed, but give me a heads-up first so we can plot things out. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: I'm down for shipping with characters of any gender, provided they're in her age cohort. She'd be very uncomfortable with the idea of dating someone more than a few years younger or older than her. Also, keep in mind: 1) her parents say she's not allowed to date until she's 16, and she has no intention of disobeying them even if they're lightyears away, and 2) she thinks she's straight (she's not).
